In October 2020 we launched Rocks & Rings In the Classroom — free classroom resources with free, curriculum-based lessons for math, science, language, and social studies. In addition to the easy-to-implement lessons, our education portal has worksheets and activities your students will love! Take a look at the free classroom resources at rocksandrings.com/education.
Ready to get started with these interactive lessons? They’re easy and (free!) to access!
Step 1
Head to www.rocksandrings.com/education to get started. If this is your first time accessing the resource library, click register. Choose your province or territory (this ensures your content is specified for your region!). Complete the registration form to finalize your account. The information on the registration page is important as it gives us insight into how many students are accessing these resources. The resources are free thanks to our partners, Canadian Egg Farmers and Curling Canada, and we want to show them the impact these resources have!
Step 2
Click your grade to access resources created specifically for that grade level. Inside the grade section, you will see Google Slide lesson plans for math, science, social studies, and language. Get started with the “All About Curling” slides to give your students an introduction to the sport of curling. Then, open up the Grade’s Google Slide to access lessons for the 4 subjects.
Step 3
Use these slides as you see fit! Add the file into your Google Drive and incorporate the lessons into your curriculum schedule. Feel free to edit the slides to fit your teaching style or student level.
Step 4
Happy teaching!
Step 5
In addition to the Google Slide lessons, the resource library has a number of worksheets, games, and activities.
Step 6
Share with your colleagues! Please send your colleagues to rocksandrings.com/education so that they can create their own free account. Registering provides access to all the content and resources and helps ensure the education portal will remain free.
